[Our doula] went way beyond the call of duty in providing support before, during, and after labor.
Unexpected Needs
High needs babies, challenging births, last-minute adoptions, or the unexpected demands of a newborn can all lead to the need for emergency care. We don’t always have last-minute availability, but when we do, we are more than happy to help.
Emergency care is typically provided by doulas who have just finished care with a family, or who are waiting on their next family to bring home their baby. All of our doulas meet the same high standards for care, so you don’t need to worry about last-minute background screening or reference checks.
Please call as soon as possible us to alert us to your need for care. If you are calling on a weekend, please use the prompt for the emergency pager.
We will let you know about our thoughts on immediate and near-term availability and how long scheduling care will take. If we have availability, we can often provide care that same day.
As with our typical matching process, we will share with you detailed biographical information on your potential doula. You are welcome to conduct a phone interview and/or face-to-face interview with your doula before starting care – whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
Contact us today to start the matching process.
Thank you so much for your flexibility in providing doula services. I know I scheduled late, and yet it wasn’t a problem. [Our doula] was so sweet and helpful. I will recommend Birthways to all of my friends who are expecting.
