Our Matching Process

Since 1997, Birthways has matched more than 3500 families to doulas. Our process is designed to help us learn about you – and help you learn about your doula care options.

We will work with you to gather information about your family and your needs. (We keep your information in the strictest confidence and never share with marketers or others.)

Based on our knowledge of the needs of new and growing families, we will work with you to tailor a care program designed for your family.

Next, we’ll find a doula that we think best meets your needs, based on the skills you need, personality, and availability. We’ll share with you a detailed biography and arrange an in-home interview. If for any reason the match isn’t right, you are welcome to interview as many doulas as we have available given your scheduling needs.

If your need for care is immediate, we will accelerate the process to ensure the right fit even though time is short.

We’ve handled all of the details of hiring our staff so you don’t have to. You avoid the logistics and expense of hiring an in-home employee, including confirming employment eligibility, setting up and paying employee taxes, and completing background and reference checks.
