Experts at finding the right match for you.  Birthways administrators have years of experience helping families find doulas that have the combination of skills, personality, and availability that you need.

24/7 emergency support.  An administrator is always on call for emergencies and other calls that cannot wait until the next business day.

Fill-ins for illness and other emergencies.  Our doulas have an impeccable attendance record, but illnesses do happen – and we are particularly conscientious about notifying families if a doula has a cold or other illness that could impact the health of your newborn.  The admin team will do their best to find a replacement doula or reschedule the shift, whichever you prefer.

Support when your doula isn’t with you.  Have a question about your newborn or your postpartum recovery between postpartum visits?  All of our administrators are trained as doulas and can provide you with support until your next shift.

Expert source of information.  Questions about choosing a pediatrician?  Wondering which newborn gear is useful and what isn’t?  Concerned about postpartum mood disorders?  We’ve compiled information packets on those topics we hear most about from new and growing families.

Breastfeeding warmline.  All Birthways families have access to our breastfeeding warmline, staffed by a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC).

Worry free care for you.  Because of our structure, Birthways takes responsibility for taxes, health insurance, and other employee benefits for our doulas, so you can enjoy the benefits of care without the burdens..  Hiring a private provider, even if short-term, means families are required to complete employment verification and pay employer taxes, amongst other responsibilities.  With Birthways, you simply get a service from us and we take care of the rest.  We also maintain professional liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance for our doulas.
